Through his career, Andreas H. Bitesnich (b. Austria 1964) has given the world perfectly crafted images celebrating the human form touched with a fragrance of eroticism.

Andreas H. Bitesnich is a perfectionist “the only way to fly higher than the others“, as he expresses it. By his own admission, he lives, breathes, devours photography; he learns, explores, experiments. Self-taught, he dreamed at a young age of becoming a fashion photographer. To pursue his dream, he equipped himself with a camera and a light and persuaded models to pose. In his subjects, he was looking for harmony and balance yet tension was an important ingredient too. As he puts it, “The (images) belong to an organic creative process that has to do with the fascination for the relation between body, time and space in a continual interaction of tension and balance“. Oftentimes he found what he was looking for when the models posed undressed which allowed him to capture the bodies surprisingly well with the play of light and shadow.

Andreas H. Bitesnich’s approach has always been to allow for and trust his intuition. He feels it important to interact with his models to gain an appreciation of who they are before turning the camera upon them. His respect of personalities unearths the subjects most beautiful side which becomes central to the power visible within his images. Combined with a mastery of technique, this style gives Andreas H. Bitesnich the tools to achieve the exact image he envisions.

Unsurprisingly, Bitesnich’s nude portraits soon caught the attention of top European magazines and consequently images were published in Stern, Playboy, Max and GQ, to name a few commercial projects followed. The quality of his work quickly established Bitesnich as a top photographer.

In 1998, Edition Stemmle published his first book‚ “Nudes”.
In the same year, it won the Kodak Photography Book Award.
In 2001, publisher teNeues released‚ “Woman” and “Travel”, and a fourth title “On Form” in 2003. His fifth book “Polanude”, a collection of his best Polaroid’s, was released in February 2006..

Sinds meer dan een decennium schenkt Andreas H.Bitesnitch (Oostenrijk, 1964) de wereld beelden die een hulde brengen aan het menselijke lichaam; in tableaus vol schoonheid, besprenkeld met een vleugje erotiek.

Andreas H.Bitesnich is een perfectionist - " de enige manier om hoger te vliegen dan anderen" - zoals hij het zelf zegt. Hij leeft, hij ademt en verslindt fotografie. Als kleine jongen droomde hij ervan modefotograaf te worden. Om  die droom te verwezenlijken schafte hij zich met het geld van studenten- en andere job, een camera en een spot aan en probeerde modellen te overtuigen voor hem te poseren. Zijn experimenten werden een passie, het begin van een waarschijnlijk levenslange zoektocht naar harmonie en schoonheid. Zijn filosofie: ' Mijn beelden zijn het resultaat van een creatief proces gericht op de samenhang tussen lichaam, tijd en ruimte en met een continue interactie tussen spanning en evenwicht.' Hij maakt zijn sterkste werk met naakte lichamen omdat hij, in zijn typische spel van licht en schaduw, de huid, de spierstructuur, pose en uitstraling van het model zo het best kan vatten.

Andreas H.Bitesnich vertrouwt veel op zijn intuïtie. De interactie met zijn modellen laat hem toe een idee over hun persoonlijkheid te krijgen, vooraleer een camera op hen te richten. Zijn respect voor eenieders eigenheid brengt de schoonheid in elk van hen naar boven. Dit gecombineerd met een technisch perfecte uitvoering is de grondslag voor de verblindende beelden die onze ogen al jaren verblijden. Het samengaan van zijn technisch meesterschap, de toegankelijkheid van zijn beelden, de bovenaardse schoonheid ervan gemengd met een discrete erotische ondertoon resulteren in een onmiskenbaar eigen stijl, hét kenmerk van de allergrootsten. Niet volledig onverwacht was het dus dat zijn naaktportretten heel snel hun weg vonden naar ‘s werelds grootste magazines als Stern, Playboy, Max en GQ. Commerciële opdrachten volgden, en al gauw prijkte Bitesnich’s naam in het selecte kransje van ’s werelds “topfotografen”.

In 1998 publiceerde de uitgeverij Stemmle zijn eerste boek 'Nudes', dat hetzelfde jaar de Kodak Photography Book Award in de wacht sleepte. In 2001 bracht uitgeverij teNeues 'Woman' en 'Travel' uit en in 2003 volgde 'On Form'. Zijn vijfde boek 'Polanude', een collectie van zijn beste polaroid foto's, werd uitgegeven in februari 2006.

Tout au long de sa carrière, Andreas H. Bitesnich (né en Autriche en 1964) a fixé des images somptueuses sublimant le corps humain avec une touche d’érotisme.

Andreas H. Bitesnich est convaincu que le perfectionnisme est la seule manière de surpasser les autres. De son propre aveu, il vit, respire et se nourrit de la photographie. Il apprend, il explore et il expérimente. Dès son plus jeune âge, cet autodidacte avait l’ambition de devenir un photographe de mode. Afin de réaliser son rêve, il s’est procuré un appareil photo et un flash et a persuadé des modèles de poser devant son objectif. Dans ses sujets, il recherche l’harmonie et l’équilibre tout en laissant une place importante à la tension. Comme il le reconnaît lui-même, “les images appartiennent à un processus créatif biologique lié à la fascination pour la relation entre le corps, le temps et l’espace dans une interaction continue de tension et d’équilibre”. Il a souvent trouvé ce qu’il cherchait en immortalisant des modèles dévêtus : l’occasion de fixer sur la pellicule des corps superbement entourés d’un jeu d’ombre et de lumière.

L’approche d’Andreas H. Bitesnich a toujours été de laisser libre court à son intuition. Il juge important de dialoguer avec ses modèles pour pouvoir apprécier qui ils sont avant de pointer son objectif sur eux. Il respecte la personnalité qui se cache derrière la beauté des sujets et lui attribue un rôle clé dans la puissance qui se dégage de ses images. Son style, associé à une grande maîtrise technique, permet à Andreas H. Bitesnich d’obtenir systématiquement l’image visualisée dans son esprit.

Naturellement, les nus du photographe ont vite attiré l’attention des principaux magazines européens. Ses photos ont ainsi été publiées dans Stern, Playboy, Max et GQ pour n’en citer que quelques-uns. Les projets commerciaux ne se sont pas fait attendre. La qualité de son travail a vite propulsé Andreas H. Bitesnich au rang de photographe incontournable.

En 1998, son premier livre, “Nudes”, a été publié aux éditions Stemmle. Il a remporté le Kodak Photography Book Award la même année. Les éditions te Neues ont ensuite publié “Woman” et “Travel” en 2001, ainsi que “On Form” en 2003. Son cinquième ouvrage, “Polanude”, paru en février 2006, réunit une collection de ses meilleurs polaroïds.
