UK Liu Bolin (1973, Shandong) is a contemporary Chinese artist. In 1995, he obtained a Bachelor's of Art from the Shandong Arts Institute and in 2001 he graduated with a Master's degree in Sculpture from the Central Academy of Fine Arts - CAFA. Liu Bolin creates performances that use the human body as a living sculpture. He is interested in the human body and its place in social surroundings : how to blend in or stand out even in a given social-cultural landscape. In his "Camouflage" series Liu Bolin always works in function of the actual location while taking into account visual and emotional elements as well as the social codes that come through in such a location. En 1995, il obtient une licence en Art au Shandong Arts Institute et en 2001, il décroche un master en sculpture à la Central Academy of Fine Arts - CAFA. Liu Bolin crée ses performances en jouant avec le corps comme s'il s'agissait de sculptures vivantes. Il s'intéresse à la question du corps dans l'environnement social : comment se fondre ou, au contraire, comment ressortir dans un paysage socio-culturel donné. Dans sa série "Camouflage", il travaille toujours en fonction du site dans lequel il est, en tenant compte des éléments visuels et émotionnels autant que des codes sociaux qui transparaissent dans ces lieux. Liu Bolin studeert in 2001 af met een diploma beeldhouwen van CAFA en richt zijn performances in waarbij het lichaam gebruikt als een levende sculptuur. Hij denkt na over het lichaam in een maatschappelijke omgeving : hoe zich wegcijferen of integendeel opvallen in een bepaald socio-cultureel landschap  In zijn reeks "Camouflage" werkt hij steeds in functie van de locatie waar hij zich bevindt waarbij hij rekening houdt met visuele en emotionele elementen evenals met de sociale codes die in deze locaties aan het licht komen.
