Michel Comte, grand photographe né en suisse à Zurich en 1954, est une star de la photographie comme Peter Lindbergh ou Mario Testino.

Il s’est vu confier son premier job publicitaire en 1979. Depuis, il est devenu l’un des photographes les plus recherchés du secteur, engagé pour des campagnes par des marques prestigieuses telles que entre autres Armani, Dolce et Gabbana, Nike, Lancôme, Revlon.

Il reste l’un des photographes de mode les plus influents et a réalisé des portraits de nombreuses personnalités pour des magazines tels que Vogue et Vanity Fair.

Les plus belles femmes n’hésitent pas à se dévoiler devant son objectif. Mais aussi toutes les stars, que ce soit du cinéma, de la mode ou du sport. L’année dernière sa photo de Carla Bruni posant nue a atteint les 91 000 € chez Christies.

Il réalise également des photographies pour le compte du Comité international de la Croix-Rouge et est le fondateur de la Fondation de l’eau Michel Comte, visant à fournir un accès à l’eau potable dans les pays où elle est extrêmement rare.

En quelques années à peine, il devient un des photographes éditoriaux et de mode les plus recherchés.

Outre son travail de commande, Michel Comte a réalisé un certain nombre de projets personnels, notamment sur des questions de droits de l’homme.

Michel Comte a exposé dans de grands musées comme la Collection Guggenheim à Venise et la Pinacothèque des Modernes à Munich. Dans toute sa carrière, il y a un sujet sur lequel Michel Comte revient toujours, celui des femmes. Ses portraits de stars et de top modèles sont des chefs d’oeuvre inégalés.

Michel Comte behoort tot de productiefste fotografen nog in leven en hij
was actief in haast elk genre uit de fotografie. Deze autodidactische fotograaf
kreeg opdrachten van nagenoeg elk belangrijk internationaal tijdschrift en
zijn werken waren te zien in de grote musea en galerieën overal ter wereld. Of

Michel Comte was born on February 19, 1954 in Zurich, Switzerland. At the age of twelve he was already actively interested in photography, particularly in the works of Man Ray, Weegee and the swiss photographer Gottard Schuh.

He went on to a career in art restoration, working for Pierre Boissons, as well as Bruno Bischofberger and Thomas Amman. That business took him to Paris where during a conversation at a dinner party he was asked to reshoot the latest Ungaro campaign.

His career as a photographer started. After Ungaro and Chloé his work regularly appears in the most important fashion magazines such as Italian and American Vogue, l'Uomo Vogue, Interview, Vanity fair

His commercial clients include Gianfranco Ferré, Giorgio Armani, Dolce &Gabbana, Moschino, Cerruti, Illy Caffè, Pomellato and Trussardi and Céline. He portraits celebrities like Jeremy Irons, Demi Moore Sharon Stone, Robert Altmann, Sting, Sophia Loren and Hillary Clinton, just to mention a few of them.

Despite his success with fashion and advertising photography, Michel Comte has never lost sight of his interest in people, a curiosity that compels him to document human behaviour far beyond the confines of his study.

That desire, and his travels throughout the world, lead to his collaboration with the International Commitee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

At present, Michel Comte lives and works between Zurich, Paris, New York and Los Angeles.
